cai_bioPICCai’s work is poetic, conceptual and nostalgic — art meets advertising. A lover of illustrating cityscapes and boiling down ideas to a simple image packed with emotion, Cai’s (pronounced “Kai” like “rye”) academic background in philosophy and architecture works it’s way into all her pieces, creating whimsical and inviting illustrations. With a professional career as an art director/designer, she approaches her images with a designer’s eye which lends her work well to advertising, branding and packaging, ensuring the tone and feels of the pieces meets the desired audience.

Born in Toronto, she currently lives in the beautiful park and river-filled city of Guelph with her partner, cat and kayak.

Partial client list includes: Nordstrom, HotDocs Documentary Film Festival, Caffe Demetre, Frigidaire, Brickworks Ciderhouse, Wellington Brewery, Penguin Books, Word on the Street, Ryerson University, Ontario Science Centre.
