Armstrong, Shelagh

Shelagh Armstrong is a Toronto-based illustrator with a wonderful list of clients and projects. She has created the artwork for two Canadian Stamps and several coins commissioned by the Royal Canadian Mint, including one for the XXI Olympic Winter Games. She has illustrated many book covers with McClelland & Stewart and McGraw-Hill. And her versatility has been shown with a huge range of ad campaigns for clients such as Tim Hortons, Bick’s, Bodyshop, and The Royal Winter Fair.

Shelagh has two fairly distinct styles that are best separated for you.

The first is her Advertising Style.

The second is her Folk Art Style.

Shelagh was also commissioned to work on Nikon’s The One That Got Away. This involved her sketching while in the frame of a stop motion camera. The resulting videos are very beautiful and wonderfully illustrate Shelagh’s narrative abilities. Check them out below.
